If there’s one time I remember now,
It’s when I couldn’t stand to miss you any more
And broke down a little.

You know,
There’s only so many minutes you can wait
For sanity to pay a visit:
To remind you how a toothbrush works,
How to tie your belt.

I found some time, though.
(Time pitied me my tears)
I just need 90 seconds to tell you
Everything I forgot to mention
When you were alive, my friend.

You were right about so many things.
And even the things you weren’t,
I swear I’d just nod and smile right now
To hear you speak one last time.

How strangely warm your blue feet,
So recently walking,
So soon to be hidden forever.
I love you plain.
We all do.

Now, go on to the light.
I’m going to sit in the dark a little while
And count your good deeds.

okay, one more poem...
